Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party service that supplies results. Somers Residents Directory does not keep its own copy of those search entries. A message sent to us contains only the material in that message, which we use to answer the request.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may record ordinary server information such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review it in aggregate for reliability and usage trends. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
That limited information helps operate the service, diagnose issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Links and Tools
Links lead to Somers, Westchester, New York, library, archive, and third-party search resources. The privacy rules of each destination apply to information submitted there. The same is true for sponsored search results supplied by an outside provider.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operating purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles maintained by Somers Residents Directory. New York’s SHIELD Act informs the reasonable-safeguard approach used for private information.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Requests
You may ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal data we keep. New York’s SHIELD Act is a state privacy and data-security safeguard, but public records held by government custodians are governed separately. Because our retained data is limited, requests usually concern a contact message or technical log. Use the Contact page to ask. A correction or removal request for a government record belongs with the office that created or holds it.
Policy Changes
A revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after an update signifies acceptance of the current version.
